Sleeper footbridges are used to provide level access across streams and ditches while allowing free drainage under them. They are inexpensive and durable as well as quick and easy to construct by two or three people in a couple of hours using ordinary hand tools. The sleeper bridges blend into the environment and can last for over 15 years without any maintenance and a damaged or rotten sleeper can be replaced quickly and easily.
